INSTRUCTORS (SEAMANSHIP & MARINE ENGG.
Orissa Maritime needs one seamanship and one engineering instructor of its campus at Paradip.
The Academy is a charitable Institution with aim to train poor backward students for merchant navy crew.
The course starts on 1st January & 1st July every year consisting of 40 students per batch. The course period is 6 month. After training here the candidates are eligible for Indian CDC. The Academy is located at Paradip.
The academy is ISO certified and DG Shipping approved. This is an autonomous body registered under society act.

The qualification for instructors will be as DG Shipping guide lines vide their circular DGS1/2003.
A person form Merchant nay, India Navy or Coast Guard or from Port organisatioon with Marine background is
prefered.Age no bar. Retired employees can also apply. Instead of salary there is an honorarium paid as we regard their services as social services. Accommodation can be provided. The person needs to stay at Paradip. Apply through e mail. omaparadip@gmail.com or call principal 09861015723
FOR INFORMATION OF NEW ADMISSION SEEKERS
1) The selection list has made basing on your (aggregate mark + English mark – 80)>=28 except quota candidates.
2) If we fall short of candidate we may put 2nd list of candidates only on our website.
3) If any candidate with more than 28 merit mark is not called he must contact us or if he knows that some one except quota candidates is called having less than 28 merit mark also can complain us.
4) The final selection for admission will be made basing on written common English test (35 marks) and by viva (15 marks)on common English speaking and understanding. The candidate may ask for xerox copy of written answer sheet by depositing Rs. 50/- with administrative officer. The viva will be conducted by three examiner one from Academy and others from other college and shipping organization to avoid any bias or manipulation.
5) The whole purpose of following this method is to prevent any manipulation in admission and for your information you may not find such system any where else though the selection of right candidate is on our hand. The whole purpose of selecting right candidate is that he must pass final examination on completion of training conducted by our Board in Kolkata.
6) If we have any foul intention we will not be conducting admission in this procedure.
7) A person with loose character will talk loose always whatever justification you give. A candidate who does not get admission is likely to talk loose.
8) Hence before talking loose about admission process You must check the following:
a. Have you applied for admission?
b. Has your application been reached us in time?
c. Do your have required merit mark to be called for test?
d. Have you answered well in written test- You can have a copy and show it any one you like to verify your marks given to you.
e. The viva is conducted by three people- It is not so easy to bias all 3.
f. If you know some one has taken admission by unfair means, let us know specifically and do not talk in general.
g. And remember we always prevent broker in between.
9) After telling many times we still feel that some candidates are coming through brokers. But the admission is totally based on student’s merit. The broker makes money by fooling you. More over there is chance of loosing admission if it is known that you have come through a broker. You should always talk to old students and get to know the fact rather than talking loose.

The candidates must ascertain themselves whether Orissa Maritime Academy is a bonafide institute or not, the responsibility of which lies with the candidates. The Shipping Master-Mumbai under DG Shipping(Govt.of India) issues CDC. In case your certificate or board from which you have passed out is not recognised by Govt. of India, CDC will not be issued by Shipping Master And the Academy will not be responsible if you have furnished fake informations.It is an offence to furnish fake certificates.
